there isnt a 'best' farmer... it depends on what you are farming and the way you do it... you can troll farm with a w/mo or you can troll farm with a mo/w

True, but kind of 90% of good farms can be done with warrior, so i think the warr is the best overall farmer.

Warrior: Good for soloing boss to get green and also other monster, but principally boss.
Monk: Can almost solo evrything that do not strip enchantment.

So, if you want a good farmer, i'll sugest you to go monk or warrior. You can go and take a look on the Farming section for a lot of farming build

I can't believe no one has brough this up:

Warriors are good for all enemies but isn't very strong at soloing higher levels.

55 Monks are only good for melee enemies and can't be near any mesmer or necro monsters (except for some, like UW coldfire nights).

Overall a 55 monk is the best because although he can't farm at just anywhere, he is almost invicable againist melee monsters and can farm the UW. (Yes, the UW is extremely important, once i got 25k in 30 minutes thanks to UW farming).

The ultimate PvE farmer is Long Duck Dong from Guangdong province, He tirelessly performs over 10,000 troll runs a day. For his efforts, he is paid $1.34, and is awarded energy drinks for every 100k he farms. Here's to you, Mr. Dong.

The best use of each class is actually in what you feel most comfortable soloing with. Check out these threads and see if you can evaluate what you prefer most, given the options:

I'd think that warrior (with secondaries to fit the job at hand ... for instance mesmer for fow spider cave, monk for hydras, etc.) would be the best all-around farmer ... if you wanted a single character that could farm the most areas.

When I started this game the 55 w/mo was the best farmer (and there are still some things that character can do better than any other when it comes to farming). But - at least from my farming experience - the w/x is the most versatile.
